BEST FOOD TRUCKS 2012: #64

KoJa Kitchen, a portmanteau of "Korean" and "Japanese," serves a menu combining flavors from both cuisines between toasted rice cake patties. It’s a clever and different idea that’s refreshing in a field that’s filled with corn tortillas, flour tortilla wraps, bao, and burger and hot dog buns. Look for Korean barbecue beef, chicken with pineapple, and teriyaki "vegetarian chicken," and the signature Kamikaze criss-cut fries topped with Korean barbecue beef, sautéed onions, kimchi, green onions, and Japanese mayo. There’s a clever play on the tiramisu, too, the "Mochimisu" a short tower of lady fingers and mascarpone layered with chocolate mocha. — Arthur Bovino, 7/13/2012

  • The short rib KoJa is a Korean and Japanese twist on a classic burger. The meat is marinated in a house blend that includes sugar, sake, and Korean shingo pear. All put in a rice-cake bun.
  • Try the Kamikaze Fries!!! Awesome
  • The Kamikeze fries is the heaven of fries.
  • I'm not a huge fan of mochi, but the Mochimisu is delicious! So is the Korean BBQ Chicken with Pineapple
  • You know it's not authentic Korean... No Korean would name their truck "KoJa" LOL. (Ask your Korean friend what this means)
  • I could do with half the rice (patties) and few more fries in the combo.
  • Buns are okay. The kamikaze fries are petty good.
  • Kamikaze fries!
  • Check out Koja Kitchen as seen on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives
  • Kalbi Koja and kamikaze fries.... Fries were a bit too soft and soggy....
  • oJa short ribs are kiwi-marinated, then placed between two rice patties. Guy couldn't believe his taste buds. This is "Asian food at its best," he said.
  • Can't go wrong with Combo A!
  • Kamikaze fries are a must. If you like dessert, then also get the Mochimisu...best tiramisu ever!
  • taking one order at a time then waiting for the food to come out for that order before taking the next when there are 5 ppl in the truck is not an efficient process at all that took way too long
  • Mochimisu!
  • Last time visiting. I've been waiting in line for 45 minutes and still haven't placed my order.
  • The bulgogi ricewich. The fries. The mochimisu are all winners. Must try if you haven't already. Sriracha sauce is available too. (3 of 4 petals via Fondu)
