Hickory Tavern Temporarily Renames a Best-Selling Cocktail ‘The Victory Potion’ in Time for Its Hometown Team’s Run in the Playoffs
Charlotte, NC (RestaurantNews.com) Hickory Tavern® today officially announced it has temporarily renamed one of its best-selling cocktails “The Victory Potion” for several good and obvious reasons: The Carolinas’ favorite team is gearing up for a run in the Playoffs, there is no better place to watch football than Hickory Tavern and as you may have guessed, the drink’s color is teal.
Previously known as the Schmekel, the cocktail, which contains a shot including Bacardi® 151 Rum, Blue Curacao Liqueur, Vodka and a Maraschino Cherry, is a Boilermaker kind of drink where the shot is dropped into a pint glass full of Red Bull®.
“No place in town has more Panthers passion than Hickory Tavern and there’s no better place to watch Panthers football than at Hickory Tavern,” said Hickory Tavern CMO Thom Perez. “So we thought we’d have some playoff fun and do our part to ensure a victory by naming our best-selling teal cocktail ‘The Victory Potion.’”
The now-named Victory Potion starts at $5.50 although prices and participation may vary.
