Tips
- A West Village 'cue joint standing out for all the right reasons. Taste the Malaysian honeycomb tripe, which is slow-cooked in smoked tomato curry.
- The menu errs on the side of funky and composed with dishes including smoked goat ragu with buttermilk pappardelle, broiled sardines and poached chicken with smoked eggplant.
- Recommended: Ham, jam, butter and bread; cured arctic char; nasi ulam; roasted carrots; deep-fried bacon; buttermilk fried half-rabbit; heritage pork ribs; bacon and clams; smoked lamb shoulder.
- For a morning wake-up call, try the Trippa Malaysiana. Brunch features comfort foods like Ricotta Flapjack Stack with smoked maple syrup and bacon and Brisket Hash with burnt ends and a fried egg.
- OMFG the bacon. Get the bacon. You have not lived till you've had this bacon. Sure, the bacon might kill you, but everybody dies, not everybody lives.
- So good! Have cocktails then fantastic food as wells.
- Being for one month in New York this is the best food I had. Both products and quality are impressively high, try it. Tips? Ribs. Scallops. Brisket and tomato salad. (Hi Jack!)
- Some serious barbecue meets southeast Asian flavors at this small plates and cocktail spot. The brisket is pricey but worthwhile.
- The fried bacon is a must, The texas toast brisket is also amazing.
- A dark horse great brunch spot. Malysian inspired dishes with delicious 1/4" thick cut bacon a part of seemingly every meal. Surprisingly empty during the weekend, and they take reservations.
- Zak Pelaccio is a pork-loving genius whose food takes elements of laid-back locavorism, the slow-smoke traditions of southern BBQ, and the goodness of Southeast Asia.
- Beer-soaked nights needn't always end poorly; pick up a fried oyster, bacon, and kimchi stuffed bao bun from midnight to 2 AM Thurs-Saturday to mop up those Millers and your head will thank you later.
- If you can, eat at the bar, especially if Matt is bartending. And don't bother with the drink menu - just give him a base liquor and let him work his magic. And tip well...in shots.
- Don't miss goat pappardelle or bacon w salsa verde. And save room for dessert: You'll have the best cheese course of your life (blue/ jackfruit parfait/ honey vin) + try the uber-seasonal 'Squash.'
- The food here is bangin'!! Delicious Malaysian BBQ! I highly recommend their brisket (comes with bread which changes, it was once Texas Toast bit now it's delicious bao) and tater tot poutine!
- Yum but overpriced! Deep fried bacon was delish.
- Smoked Brisket Sandwich ($12)
- The smokin' bone is a damn near perfect cocktail. Adam Schuman is the best!
- Don't pass on dessert! The Purple Cow is incredible
- Start w the foreplay, oysters, kale, clans & goat papperdelle
