Tips

  • Two words: champagne sangria. Champagne. Sangria.
  • The King of Spain once said this place had the best Spanish food outside of Spain. Yum!
  • enjoy Spanish kitsch at it's finest. It's like being in someone's living room in Madrid, but it doesn't smell like cigarettes.
  • The Paella Valencia with lobster is absolutely amazing.....literally tastes like awesome memories of Spain!!!!!
  • An institution - Hendrix and Joplin held court here; and Patti Smith & Mapplethorpe bummed drinks when they lived upstairs. It hasn't changed a bit - and after a meal, you'll thank god it hasn't.
  • If you're a fan of spanish paella like myself, this is definitely the place to go! Make sure to order the calamari as an appetizer. It's superb!
  • Baked clams are a must!!
  • Lobster and champagne sangria
  • The garlic soup cures all. GET IT.
  • If you love lobster, get the Daily Double - 2 lobsters for $33. Wash it down with sangria. Fantastic meal.
  • If you are looking for a place were to practice your spanish with a bunch of spaniards, THIS IS THE PLACE.
  • Fantastic lobster, very reasonable price!!!
  • Get the Filet beef tips at the bar. Best thing on the menu
  • Good lobster and paella. Huge portions. Sliced potatoes are dope. The ambiance of the place is like going back in time.
  • I've been having the daily double here now for 31 years! It's the best!! Make sure you get it broiled!
  • Portions of paella are plenty for two people. Do not let your server mislead you.
  • No other Chelsea Spanish restaurant has the old-school charm of El Quijote. The menu is vast, so here's our advice: the shrimp in garlic sauce is top-notch, as are the pitchers of champagne sangria.
  • Chicken croquettes and filet mignon tips are the best!
  • Daily double broiled!! Best lobster!!
  • Cappuccino comes with whipped cream on top - be prepared if this is not your idea of a good time.
