Foursquare Tips

  • Terrible service. Great pub.
  • Food was late and overcooked. Dry, burnt fishfingers and weak tartare sauce. Far too much salt in the root vegetable "crisps", which resembled the end of a bag of Walkers that I sat on a month ago.
  • My local, the food is really good and love the beer garden any time of the year (but miss the wall of superheroes since the refurbishment!)
  • If it's beer gardens ye seek, then this is the place. Especially if you enjoy cack-handed murals of superheroes.
  • Up and down the City Road; In and put the Eagle; That's the way the money goes; Pop goes the weasel! ie you have to pawn your weasel and stoat (coat) to pay.
  • Veeeery nice backyard, perfect for sunny afterwork !
  • There's a new menu which is a massive improvement on the old one - best roasts in the area bar none, plus amazing bloody marys where you can spice your own at the bar. Service is great too!
  • Nice pub, perfect for after work drinks
  • One of my favourites and also an excellent local. Good food, good beer and a great beer garden.
  • warm spiced cider is absolutely lovely. proper apple scrumpy joy.
  • Take the hot wing contest. Just seen a hot wing contest fail! 5 wings in 10 mins and free drinks. He managed one, necked a pint of milk and gave up crying...
  • Good summer pub, very slow service when busy. Allow 20 mins to get served on Friday evenings.
  • Listen to Paul C.
  • Everyone here has shit hair and no coat.
  • Pie night at the eagle on a Monday: cheese and onion, beef borguignon, chicken and bacon, and cottage Poe are tonight's choices. 8 ish
  • Courgette and halloumi cheese from BBQ was a ridiculously small portion. Especially comparing to my friends dishes. It's like 6 pcs of courgette, 1/3 of pepper and 4 tiny pcs of halloumi for 6.50!!!
  • Great beer garden at the back.
  • Patio and beer selection.
  • Traditional pub. Well run, busy.
  • Nice beer garden but the food portion sizes are a joke. 4.25 for about 8 padron peppers is not cool. I complained and the server said "I just serve the food". Really helpful.
