Foursquare Tips

  • Just the pianist and the swing band in the lobby make this one of my favorite Disney resorts. If you're lucky enough to be passing by while they're playing sit and listen, you won't regret it!
  • One of the nicest resort for Christmas decorations
  • At the daily tea parties in the Garden View Tea Lounge, apple juice is served in tea cups, accompanied by storytelling, singalongs, and guest appearances by Princess Aurora and Sleeping Beauty.
  • Say hello to Miss Lynn - aka the Teddy Bear Lady, who can be found sitting near the piano in the afternoons. A very nice person, who has become one of the staples that we look forward to seeing!!
  • This is a great resort! My favorite tip is enjoy a quiet dinner at Narcoossee's to watch the Wishes Fireworks over Magic Kingdom. They pipe the show right into the restaurant and what a view!
  • The story of the older lady with the stuffed animals is sad. Seems she used to come to the hotel with her husband, he passed years ago and now she visits the hotel every single day.
  • Take the boat back from Magic Kingdom. It's a lot faster and cool way to trek back to the resort.
  • When are they going to complete the walkway from Grand Floridian to Magic Kingdom?
  • For the past 12 years Chef Jade Bowser and her pastry team have prepared a life-sized gingerbread house that is displayed in the lobby throughout the winter.
  • Don't miss the 1900 Park Fare Breakfast, the buffet is very good and you're going to have fun with Pooh, Tiger, Alice and others!! You must book.
  • during the holidays get a ginger bread cookie and some milk at the shop next to the ginger bread house. Sit on a couch and listen to the music.
  • Although this is the most adult of the Disney resort hotels, the cast here (don't call them "staff") do everything in their power to make sure kids have a great time. Plus: two great pools!
  • Two outdoor bars for your amusement: one by the beach pool and a second one by the resort pool.
  • Gasparilla's is a fantastic quick service restaurant. We had an amazingly good grilled chicken sandwich and grown-up mac & cheese with LOBSTER. for $10 each. So good.
  • Wash your hands in the soap store on the second floor. Free testers leave you hands feeling and smelling wonderful! And it's free! Free!
  • Take a walk past the Spa and visit Disney's Wedding Pavilion along with Franck's Studio (named after the character in Father of the Bride).
  • Music by a brass band on the mezzanine alternating with a pianist in tails on the atrium lobby main floor stating around 4:30 pm is a pre-dinner treat. Follow with a buffet dinner at 1900 Park Fare.
  • Step into the lobby and be transported back to 1910. Absolutely gorgeous architecture.
  • The eccentric older lady in the lobby is actually quite nice.
  • Best resort in the magic kingdom
