Foursquare Tips

  • $30 3 course meal at bar upstairs is one of my favorite deals in DC
  • Try the antelope
  • Surprises reveal themselves slowly. The best examples are the complexly layered soups. If we see one on the menu, we order it. The $65 five-course tasting menu is an excellent value.
  • "Duck egg and leg salad" is wonderful-- don't miss it!
  • Choose prix fix, unbelievable. Trust the chef.
  • Try the 6 course tasting menu. Brilliant!
  • The $30 three-course prix fixe at the bar is a killer deal. Don't sleep on it.
  • Get any soup on the menu. Chilled burdock in the summer
  • We had the chef's tasting menu and it was spectacular. Highly recommend.
  • Wow! My new favorite restaurant in DC!!
  • Do the Chef's Surprise Tasting. Prices of heaven.
  • Get the antelope - not as gamey as you might fear, and simply delicious.
  • Lobster carpaccio is so unexpectedly delicate, and the antelope was delicious. I will definitely be coming back here!
  • Antelope is tender and lean. Ask them to hold on the salt. Beef is so tender it melts in your mouth. Beet salad is divine.
  • Soft shell crab: Ahh-maz-ing!!!
  • Go upstairs for the three course $30 fixed price menu at the bar... no reservations required and a fantastic deal :)
  • Fresh, seasonal ingredients exquisitely prepared. If you are looking for a fantastic meal with wonderful, personal service, this is a great choice!
  • The details are in the dishes, not the decor, at this local favorite: even the bread is delicious, and the rockfish with vegetables and sherry-butter sauce is a work of art.
  • This is a world class restaurant on a street that is all boarded up. Upstairs is a lovely bar, perfect for a romantic date or catching up.
  • Spicy Mango Martini!
