Tips
- With a network of trails to suit every level of hiker, get up-close with the Flatirons (the slanting slabs of sandstone that are Boulders most recognizable landmark) framed by a beautiful meadow.
- For an easy walk do the Bluebell-Baird Trail. For a long walk take the Mesa Trail. For a more strenuous hike that will take 1 to 1.5 hours take the Royal Arch Trail. There are tons of options here.
- Don't hike hungover
- Everyone likes Chautauqua in the summer but if you're looking for a quiet walk in the woods, be sure to hit the trails in the morning after a little snow. You cannot go wrong.
- Mobile phone audio tour! Call 303-952-1600 Nine stops & four interpretive panels located throughout this National Historic Landmark. Fun
- Did you know? The word Chautauqua is Iroquois for either two moccasins tied together or jumping fish.
- Wildlife watch for Eastern Gray Squirrel (Sciurus carolinensis)
- Great place for "experimenting"
- Start with a guided tour early with Boulder Walking Tours . Go to ranger station to pick a trail to hike . Later have lunch at tha Dining Hall . Then drive up to the top of Flagstaff Mt.
- I want to go hiking here!
- Great for a hike. Fantastic mountain views!
- Nice trails to walk with great views of Boulder and Denver the higher you go. Nice date spot to watch the sun set.
- Check out the trails at the ranger station
- Hike or climb the flatirons! Also pick up trash left on trails to keep them beautiful for the rest of the guests!
- Awesome open space accessible by bicycle from town.
- The beauty
- La subida del trail es super pesada casi muero ah jaja Pero llegue!Por cierto! Las vistas son increblesDe un lado tienes boulder y del otro lado de las montaas est rocky mountain
- This is one of my favorite parks in Colorado. The trails are so well maintained.
- Great place to hike, with many options. A different experience each time. Parking is tough, but the trail doesn't get over-crowded in the morning.
- Hike to the Royal Arch is awesome and strenuous. 1600ft elevation gain! The one downside is that everyone and their mother were here on a Sunday around noon. I've never seen a park this packed!
