At the East Village’s Brindle Room, chef/owner Jeremy Spector is serving a lunch-only burger that, at $12, is a certifiable steal. The reason? Dry-aged meat. Prime aged beef trimmings and deckle are brought in from his partner’s New Jersey restaurant, and give this burger a pronounced mineral-rich funk. It comes topped with caramelized onions and your choice of cheese, but honestly, would you top a dry-aged rib-eye with cheese? The soft white generic bun perfectly holds it all together.

  • A hefty, funky, juicy burger made from the dry aged trimmings from a steakhouse.
  • Beef is the star of the show in the steak house burger. The thick patty is seasoned liberally & pan-seared for a sturdy crust, gushing with funky flavor that pools up in the loosely packed interior.
  • One of the best burgers in NYC! It's comparable to Minetta Tavern's Black Label Burger except half the price.
  • The burger was really, very good, and for what they charge (only $10), it's impossible to say no to.Also, not on the menu, but their poutine is ridiculously wonderful.
  • Weekend happy hour is 10pm-midnight. #OnlyinNYC :)
  • They don't have a dessert menu here, so plan accordingly.
  • You think you want the fried chicken, but you really want the burger with american cheese, caramelized onions and fries, cooked medium. Sometimes you need to really listen to yourself.
  • Brindle's cast-iron-charred patty sits on a white bread roll, and is smothered with cheese and caramelized onions.
  • According to food writer Josh Ozersky, it's the "best new-school burger in America...[it] synthesizes the best of old and new: specialty meat, squishy buns, intense seasoning, and cast-iron searing."
  • Get the donuts. One of each. You won't be disappointed.
  • The burger isn't on the menu - just ask for it. Freaking amazing. Poutine also delicious. Literally the food dreams are made of.
  • The famous burger is available at brunch, so give it a try if dinner reservations are hard to come by.
  • Ribeye with braised kale and fries! Holy cow!
  • No espresso machine means no cappuccino.
  • Yep, it lives up to the hype: get the burger. It's like the best backyard "America" burger you've ever had. White bun, well seasoned and juicy beef, gooey cheese, caramelized onions, and dark fries.
  • One of the best burgers in the city, especially for the price. Get the special fries as well.

  • Best Doughnut to Eat When Warm: Made with a bit of mashed potato mixed in the dough, they're thin, fried extra-crisp, and delicious.
  • Get there at 8am on weekdays and 11am on weekends for their daily Coffee & Donuts made from mashed potatoes with flavors changing daily.
  • The steak for two is just silly. So perfect. Brings a tear to my eye.
