A fruity complement to turkey is not a new concept — we’ve been eating cranberry sauce with our Thanksgiving turkey for ages, but the thought of creating a fruity condiment to complement turkey burgers surprised us, in a good way. Buttermilk biscuits, pomegranate molasses, and a cool creamy mayonnaise mixture make this turkey burger one of our favorites. Click here to see 50 Best Burger Recipes

French Toast Turkey Burger
Breakfast for dinner is a pretty regular thing for me — I love me some French toast or a waffle on a weeknight. This recipe happened, sort of, on accident. I was craving a burger but also French toast. Instead of choosing one or the other, I decided to make both and put them together. It was a great decision, as this burger is absolutely delicious! Rubs work just as effectively as a marinade, and if you're working with the grill, you'll avoid flare ups and smoke without missing out on the flavor.

My mom came up with this dish when my sister and I were kids. We wouldn’t eat plain turkey burgers, so my mom improvised. She added the great bold flavor of feta, which is a very strong cheese, along with spinach, which can be very pungent as well. Then she added garlic to make the ultimate healthy burger. Sometimes she would add sweet red peppers for extra flavor.

As much as we hate to insult the healthy white meat, sometimes a turkey burger needs a little help in the taste department, which is exactly what Gaby Dalkins, author of Absolutely Avocados, did with this recipe. Her bacon-cotija guacamole is the perfect, flavorful complement to the juicy turkey burgers, and we’re convinced that we’ll be using it for a lot more than our burgers.Click here to see 50 Best Burger Recipes

Gorgonzola-Stuffed Turkey Burger
My roommate Mike makes a mean turkey burger. He adapted this from his mom's famous meatloaf and graciously shared the recipe with me (perhaps it had something to do with my ongoing pleas to have him cook it for me). I've since made some adjustments and additions, but the basic concept remains the same — a lighter, juicier take on a classic burger and stuffed with gooey gorgonzola. I like to serve this with balsamic-soaked tomatoes on a toasted ciabatta roll. Click here to see 7 Must-Try Burger Recipes.
