Today on the Bite Tonight: Sushi Kami

Located on Eureka Rd in Southgate, MI is Sushi Kami. Sushi Kami now occupies the spot where Black Pine Tree used to be located before they moved down the street. Sushi Kami has great specials. Myself, Kate, Nastassia, Michelle, and the kids went there for the 12.99 sushi buffet which includes up to 4 select rolls and 4 appetizers. See how they ranked.

Edamame: Lightly salted soybeans.

Gyoza (dumpling): Lightly fried for a killer crisp. Stuffed with a yummy pork filling.

Obama Roll (Top): Crab meat, cucumber, and avocado covered in a sweet signature sauce, tempura style and topped with fried potato shavings. Always a winner! If you haven’t tried this roll, get on it! Creamy, crunchy, sweet, and salty all in one.

Crazy Kami Roll (Bottom): Avocado and some other delicious ingredients topped with crab meat, sweet signature sauce. You can’t go wrong with the sweet sauce! It is great with the salty and spicy explosion you get from the soy and wasabi.

Service was good and our orders came out pretty quickly. The only bad thing about the sushi buffet is that you won’t be able to finish what you order, so tread lightly. If you have a lot leftover, you will get charged around 40-50 cents per roll. I thought I could knock out two specialty sushi rolls, but I didn’t even come close. It is well worth the money and I can’t wait to go back now that I know what I’m capable of. Stop in and check it out!
