Foursquare Tips

  • Burger is top class. Scotch eggs are equally as delicious. Cask ales are a must try
  • Head to The William hotel's casual pub, The Shakespeare and try the warm roast beef sandwich, fish & chips, bangers & mash, shepherds pie, and Welsh rarebit on toast.
  • Great cask ale!
  • grab a seat @ the bar, order an ardbeg neat & chat w/ lee, dennis & dave. this place is excellent!
  • Relatively faithful versions of British classics in gastropub style.
  • Too much of a "bro" crowd for me
  • This is what a pub should feel like.
  • Good selection of beers and good place to wait while you get a table at the Raines Law Room upstairs ;)
  • Just a good Irish bar.
  • Try one of the rotating casks!
  • Pull back the velvet curtain and descend into a 16th-century style British pub decked out in tons of wood, a low ceiling and a mock fireplace.
  • Great food, good beer
  • Try beer from the cask. Also, Scotch egg!
  • DONT come here for breakfast or brunch -- very little food... and I'm a pretty small woman
  • Head upstairs for fancy drinks or stay at the pub for low-key vibes.
  • Good selection of beers and great bar snacks
  • They're serving a Shakespeare Pale Ale and a Scotch Egg for Ales N' Apps Week (May 9-13)
  • Very hot, very busy
  • Don't skip on dessert
  • Love this place - it's so relaxed and so close to GCT.
