Foursquare Tips

  • The Hector Burger might be one of the most serious burgers you will eat. Two 4oz patties, chipotle aioli, smoked brisket chili, crispy onion rings and pickles.
  • If you have any intelligence at all you will drop every thing you are doing and go here. Now.
  • Eat everything. The ribs and the brisket are divine. The BBQ sauce is the right amount of sweet and heat. The green chili chedder grits are a knockout. Lots of heat.
  • The sandwiches are a religious experience.

  • Very tasty (rich) brisket. Grab it to go & have a picnic in nearby Crispus Attucks park
  • The Brisket Champ with fatty cuts of brisket, crispy onions and housemade pickles on buttered toast is ridiculous. The wings are borderline addicting, too - get at least 10 or you'll regret it.
  • Everything. All day everyday. Brisket Champ, Meaty Palmer, the Den Den - eat them all. Also, the wings are borderline addicting, get at least a 10 spot or you'll regret it.
  • Order the Brisket Champ sandwich. It starts with 'master's level brisket' stacked onto buttery Texas toast and topped with vinegar-loaded house-made pickles and crispy buttermilk-battered onions.
  • Two types of DC'ers: those who go to Hill Country and those who know about- and go to- DCity
  • Get a fat-tastic sandwich on Texas toast called the Meaty Palmer: smoked turkey gets flavor bombed with slabs of pork belly, smashed avocado and jalapeno aioli. Tell everyone you had turkey for lunch.
  • "Meaty Palmer" is the 2nd best sandwich I've eaten in DC. I was born and raised in DC.
  • The pie is incredible, and the service is great. They gave me a sample of cinnamon almond pie just for walking in, and it was absolutely delicious. Great BBQ too. 5 stars!
  • The ribs, brisket and wings are all winners. VERY good food. VERY limited seating.

  • Brisket, BBQ, and smoked wings are GREAT. Service with a smile type of atmosphere makes you want to come back again and again. I like how they have a "food made ready" approach. Food is always fresh!
  • Staff is good about moving folks around to accommodate a large group. Once you're seated, order the picnic basket and start pre-cutting that paper towel roll into sheets because you're gonna need 'em.
  • The waits are long but the sweet sweet smoked meats are worth it. Great sides too. Go early, as the most popular dishes sell out.

  • This place is is hard to find. Follow the pig into the social club door. Best BBQ I've ever had. Brisket is a must but also the rib tips. Can't recommend enough. Sandwiches are dope
