  • Excellent pub and lovely debate about Scotland's independence movement
  • Lovely selection of whiskies, don't miss out. Great roaring fire inside too :)
  • Cool Pub with nice stuff and staff, not too crowdy; especially considered the area.
  • Great selection of beers, just hidden off the royal mile.
  • Right by the castle but without the tourists. Good beer and reasonable prices
  • Very nice small pub, cozy and fun! There are also a few seats outside, it was really nice to sit and have a drink there!
  • Great place for a pint on the mile. They have a nice selection of Scottish craft beers.
  • Increasingly good range of well kept, unusual and new beers from Scottish brewers!
  • Nice selection of both beer and cider.
  • A little underground tavern, warm cozy friendly, has its own style!
  • Nice small pub, recommend if you want to get away from the tourists. Was there during cider festival. Their range of beer and cider is well above average.
  • Old dark, slightly damp basement pub which might be exactly what you'd want, or is too depressing and smelly. Does have good local beer selection.
  • Try the daily soup!!!
  • No music, warm, self service....great soup try it
  • Was too full, couldn't get in
  • loved the atmosphere that place!
  • Good honest Scottish pub
  • A kind of hidden gem, lovely small pub
  • I'll always have a soft spot for this place because my husband used to chat with me on the free WiFi at the Judge way back in 2003. It's cozy, central, and has outdoor seating for warm summer nights.
  • I didn't like, expensive with not many options for tap beer and the outside sittings smell bad.
