Tips

  • Old World wine list and Mediterranean small plates: Scott Harris has nailed the formula at Purple Pig and Davanti Enoteca, so why mess with a good thing?
  • DiSotto is a wonderful wine bar that opens daily at 5pm. It's a late night spot for late night people. Great wine, great staff, what else could a person want?
  • Meat/salami platter is great and bigger than you think. Comes with great bread. Prosciutto and Coppa were great, wasn't a big fan of the Ndujo.
  • Try the ricotta and honeycomb from our 100 Best list: This ricotta is richer and smoother than we could have imagined (its whipped with olive oil), paired with sweet honeycomb and grilled bread.
  • You need to walk down the stairs
  • A little trip to Italy, right here in Chicago.
  • Very delicious tapas and excellent wine pairing. Peperonata, Kale-Walnut Pesto, and eggplant prosciutto balls were delicious!!!
  • Plenty of Italian wines join American and French varietals plus a menu of bruschettas, pastas and sweets, served until midnight on weekdays and 1 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
  • When youre spreading thick ricotta and honeycomb on toasted bread or indulging in the toast with a truffled egg yolk at its center, the appeal of this wine bar cant help but feel unending.
  • Italians eat a little lighter in the evening, and Disotto follows suit with small plates like anchovy-ricotta-tomato bruschetta and squares of egg-enclosed toast, rich with truffle oil.
  • Prosciutto for appetizer FTW!
  • Order the Ricotta e Miele, ah-mazimg.
  • Really nice place to come and sit and talk with friends.
