Tips
- This ubiquitous kale salad is specifically delicious.
- Its opening week went off impressively well, from an already-popular "secret" burger to a lively bar scene. Try it right away before the lines are perpetually out the door.
- Alden & Harlow in Cambridge cuts its rum-based Volcano with tomatillo and serrano.
- Smoked chocolate bread pudding is the best dessert of my life. And I don't even like chocolate!
- Ubiquitous Kale Salad, Grilled Point Judith Bluefish, Lamb Sirloin, Pan Roasted Clams. And wash it all down with a dirty martini!
- Smokey chocolate bread pudding. SMOKEY CHOCOLATE BREAD PUDDING!!
- Best burger in Boston. Seriously rivals my favorite burger at Spotted Pig in NYC... But I can walk to Alden & Harlow. I will inevitably be a regular here. Sorry in advance.
- Everything we had was great. Pancakes, broccoli, kale salad!
- They call it family style, but it's more like tapas. Either way, the food is f'ing delicious
- Great environment with tapas style dishes. Two dishes per person works out pretty well. The secret burger is amazing and large.
- charred broccoli with pumpkin hummus and the pickled corn pancakes were delish. the wait to get seats at the bar (since those are also reserved) is not quite as delish.
- Cocktails are incredible. Forbidden fruit is a standout, but you really can't go wrong.
- Get the muscles. Then the sweet pea hummus. Then everything else on the menu.
- The charred octopus with quinoa was awesome! Also love love loved the NY strip - amazing flavor. Great cocktails at the bar, too. Oh! And we ended up ordering a second of the kofta - so good.
- PORK. GET THE PORK.
- I'm not sure whether or not I can visit Alden & Harlow without getting an order of the corn pancakes; I've never tried... nor do I have any intention to.
- All the cocktails are excellent. We also sampled at least half the menu. Pork belly, pumpkin salad (surprisingly), pork shoulder, burrata crostino were standouts.
- The secret burger is solid, but don't overlook their daily specials. Also get the kale salad and popcorn pancakes to start.
- From Bill Addison's review: "Beef neck, roasted to tender submission, collapses over parsnip puree."
- The "secret" burger has already garnered plenty of local and national media chatter. Offers truly beautiful & creative vegetable-focused dishes that shine a light on the local bounty.[Eater 38 Member]
