Snake Allegedly Found In A Can Of Cranberry Sauce

Someone allegedly found a snake in a can of Ocean Spray cranberry sauce in Canada.

Officials from the cranberry company are working with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency to investigate photos taken of a snake in the can of cranberry sauce. The woman in St. Catharines, Ontario, posted the photo over Thanksgiving weekend, which falls on the second Monday of October in Canada.

The photos show a dark-colored snake twisting among the cranberry jellies, according to CTV News. It has been shared over 4,400 times on Facebook and has since been made private.

Ocean Spray said that they have spoken with the customer several times since the incident was reported and have offered to send her $10 in coupons.

"We take all customer reports very seriously and were very sorry to hear this customer had a disappointing experience with our product and our brand," a spokesperson told CTV News. "This is an isolated incident and all products currently in stores or in homes remain safe to consume."

It is unclear whether the snake was dead or alive in the cranberry sauce.
