Experience

Melanie began writing recipes and lifestyle content for Oola, a small Midwestern publication, in 2020. This coincided with both her transition to vegetarianism and the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown, which gave Melanie plenty of time to experiment with plant-based recipes, finding the best flavors, techniques, and tricks for making vegetarian food delicious for everyone, even meat lovers. She later expanded across multiple websites, including Suggest, The List, and American Songwriter, covering topics like culture, politics, astrology, and entertainment. In addition to writing, Melanie works at her local NPR affiliate, WKMS 91.3 FM, and is a touring musician, which has helped her develop a knack for eating well on the go.

Education

Melanie has a Bachelor of Arts in music business with an emphasis on vocal performance from Murray State University.
