The 5 Best Publix Desserts Of 2026 (So Far)

Add Daily Meal on Google:

Publix has already earned a great reputation and loyal customer base for its fried chicken, made-to-order deli subs, and freshly sliced bread, but it's also worth visiting for its dessert offerings. The grocery chain has a way of making even the most disciplined grocery shopper stray from their list of pantry staples and dinner ingredients to toss something sweet into their cart. Savvy shoppers know that the store's bakery, frozen section, and snack aisles always have tasty, fresh, and new items that are perfect for those with a sweet tooth. In fact, its seasonal ice cream flavors are among the 10 products shoppers buy during every visit.

In 2026, the grocery chain's dessert lineup has given customers plenty of delicious items to dig into. From housemade cheesecakes to seasonal showstoppers and big-name dupes, Publix is proving that there's always a tempting reason to treat yourself. We scoured the Publix website and tons of shopper reviews to find the top desserts that the store has rolled out this year so far. Whether you've got a craving for something new, are a loyal follower seeking out the latest seasonal treats, or need something for a holiday gathering, this year's Publix desserts won't let you down.

Sprinkle Crunch Shortcakes

These mini cakes are Publix's version of the viral Dot Cakes that dessert lovers on social media went crazy for this spring. The original ones, made by a New York-based bakery, feature a small, round cake in vanilla or chocolate that is covered in frosting and rainbow sprinkles. You can only get the official ones at Costco, but Publix introduced its own take with the Sprinkle Crunch Shortcake in June.

The cheery, spongy yellow cake is filled and topped with sweet buttercream icing, then dipped in colorful rainbow sprinkles for a crunchy bite — and customers are loving it. "The icing was so light[,] fluffy[,] and creamy," said one Reddit commenter. "Genuinely 10/10 for me. No notes!" The store also sells a chocolate cake with buttercream and pieces of crispy chocolate on top.

Limited Edition Bourbon Praline Crumble Ice Cream

Publix has been making its own ice cream for over 40 years, and its store-brand ice creams are of the chain's most popular products. Boozy, fall-inspired, and full of sugary goodness, the Limited Edition Bourbon Praline Crumble ice cream was part of a lineup of nearly 20 flavors that Publix released in pint-sized and half-gallon sizes in February. This option, available only in a pint, combines whisky-flavored ice cream with bourbon-coated praline pecans and buttery brown sugar cinnamon.

"I like that bourbon, and you do taste it," said YouTube user Tami Dunn in a review of the ice cream. "Those praline pecans are terrific; they have just the slightest bit of crunchy sugar." Another shopper took a scoop of the ice cream and paired it with Aldi's seasonal Caramel Apple Blossom. "Best dessert ever!" they said in an Instagram post. The ice cream is still listed on the grocer's website, but since it was a seasonal flavor, it might not be available at your local store.

Mini Pumpkin Cream Cheese Pie

It's the season for pumpkin-flavored everything, and many stores have wasted no time getting into the autumnal spirit. Publix has many sweet and savory treats that highlight the orange superstar of fall, from pumpkin spice madeleines to pumpkin fritters and a loaf cake. The store started stocking shelves with these treats, and more, in September.

This mini pumpkin cream cheese pie is new to the annual seasonal lineup and starts with a buttery speculoos crust, topped with a creamy, spiced pumpkin cream cheese filling. The dessert is finished off with a piped pastry cream and a white chocolate square in the middle. "It's everything I wanted it to be and more," said one reviewer on TikTok. "[I'm] forcing myself to eat my actual lunch and not this entire pie."

Decadent Vanilla Celebration Cookies

In March, Publix's bakery introduced a new line of "Decadent Cookies." They look to be the store's take on Crumbl Cookie's giant, icing-heavy sweets that have gained a cult following. These pre-packaged cookies come in a box of two, are cream-cheese flavored, and are topped with the store's signature buttercream icing and confetti sprinkles.

"I have had all the varieties!" said one Reddit commenter. "[The Decadent Vanilla Celebration Cookies] and the Oreo ones are my favorites! So good!" The store also sells the cookies in other flavors, including caramel pecan, s'mores, raspberry cream cheese, and double cookies and cream. Shoppers can also buy an assorted pack of four different flavors. Many Publix customers also consider these better than Crumbl's cookies; and, for the price, it's a better deal than a single cookie from Crumbl!

Pumpkin Cookie Dough Cheesecake

Along with the mini pumpkin cream cheese pie, the chain's bakery also released a cookie dough-flavored pumpkin cheesecake. The item is another new addition to its annual fall treat lineup, released in September, and it's serving up all the cozy fall flavors in one delicious mashup. Sold in a package of two slices, the pumpkin cookie dough-flavored cheesecake combines creamy pumpkin cheesecake with chunks of cookie dough blended throughout, with a buttery graham cracker crust.

One Publix employee didn't waste any time taste-testing the cheesecake slices. He shared his thoughts when the treat was first rolled out. "I will already eat cheesecake and tear it up, [but] this is delicious," he said in a TikTok review. Pair a slice with a cup of coffee, or buy several to serve at your Halloween party or fall cocktail shindig. This is a limited-time offering, so pumpkin and cookie dough lovers should run to the refrigerated bakery aisle before this treat disappears from shelves.
