This Returning Costco Fall Pie Has Shoppers Flocking To The Bakery

Late summer can only mean one thing — the return of Costco's pumpkin pie. That's right, the autumnal treat has been hitting the bakery department in late August when the temperature is still in the 90s and people long for a cool beach day. That hasn't stopped the Instagram accounts tracking Costco's shelves from flocking to the warehouse store to take a photo of the pie. Account @costco.so.obsessed posted that they first spotted the over 3-pound pie on August 22 for $5.99 at the Pacoima, California, location. Other locations may have a higher price.

Not every location already has them. On Facebook a person asked if their local Midland, Michigan, location had the pie in yet. A commenter who seemed to work at the store said they would get them in after Labor Day. Others feel it is too early for the fall flavor, with multiple comments stating simply "Too early." Although, one who felt it wasn't the season, yet, hedged with: "Too early, I'm not gonna rush into it yet.....maybe."

If you missed this pie the last 39 years — waiting to hear if it was good or not — this may be the right year to finally try it. "Are they good though," asked one commenter. "They are super good," replied the original poster. We tend to agree that the pumpkin pie at Costco is worth it. The price for the amount of quality pie you get is impressive, and the fact that the price has stayed the same while everything around it seems to get more and more expensive creates loyal fans. No one else seems to have had a chance to try this year's pie, so there are few reports on whether it still lives up to its legend.

If you've never tried it, posters on Reddit are big fans of the apple pie's flaky crust and firm, juicy apples. Either way, if you're looking to try any of Costco's fall bakery line, right now may be the time, before the season changes and people's minds turn to fall flavors.
