Television-Inspired Recipes for the 2014 Emmy’s
The 66th Primetime Emmy Awards are coming up on August 25th, and the night will be completely dedicated to celebrating the television shows we all know and love. And let’s face it; we really love television. There’s nothing quite as comforting as settling down for a binge-watching marathon of our favorite shows. But what is a marathon without some delicious food?
The same goes for the Emmys this year. Sure we may throw a party and have a good time with friends, but there needs to be good food to really set the mood. And, seeing as a lot of shows being nominated this year have memorable food moments, why not use those to inspire your dishes this year? We’ve rounded up a few recipes inspired by this year’s nominees that will make watching the Emmys so much more fun.
Game of Thrones
Game of Thrones is nominated for Outstanding Drama Series this year, and to celebrate, we think meat is called for. The characters on the show are always chowing down at some delicious feast, and we want to eat just like the people of Westeros do!
The Big Bang Theory
The boys on The Big Bang Theory are super smart, but not so great in the kitchen. However, that doesn’t stop them from eating some pretty delicious food on screen. In particular, Chinese takeout seems to be a favorite of these geniuses, and it sounds like a good idea to us.
Our favorite British aristocrats are up for multiple awards this year, and of course we have to celebrate in the most British way possible: tea! But not just tea, we need some dainty snacks to go along with our tea, of course.

While Breaking Bad may be all about a completely illegal substance, that doesn’t mean we still can’t have some delicious food inspired by the show! Candy, in particular, comes to mind. It’ll be a fun way to honor Walter White without breaking the law.
Orange is the New Black
The ladies of Orange is the New Black are taking the Emmys by storm this year, and food has always been a central part of the show. Now we’re not suggesting that you serve prison food. Instead, we think that using Red’s obsession with the prison chicken is a perfect way to honor the show.
