6 Healthy Morning Snacks to Eat at Your Desk
Anyone who has ever tried to clean up his or her diet will tell you that healthy eating is hard — but healthy snacking is even harder. Lots of good-for-you snacks don’t really satisfy your craving (which, in turn, causes you eat more in an attempt to fulfill a specific desire), and others just get plain old boring after a while. Work in an office and healthy snacking becomes even more difficult — your snack has to be portable and easy to eat at your desk, too.
The key to a successful morning desk snack is finding something that actually satisfies your craving and that also keeps you full. Fail to do either one of those two things and the odds are good that you’ll give in to the box of doughnuts in the break room or the bag of potato chips in the vending machine.
So, if you’re craving chocolate, for example, have chocolate — but stick to antioxidant-rich dark chocolate, choose an appropriate serving size to help control calories, and pair the chocolate with something that will help keep you fuller longer. You’ll be surprised how easy it is to stop eating after just a few bites!
