Try These Perfect Pear Recipes This Fall
One of the best parts of fall is that you get to enjoy some amazing seasonal fruits and vegetables, like figs, apples, pumpkin, and, of course, pears. Pears are a versatile fruit that can be used for deserts (tarts, pies, or cakes), but they can also be incorporated into savory dishes. You can make a pear pizza, bacon-wrapped pears, or a hearty pear salad. There are so many different pear recipes to try, which is why we made the fruit the theme of this week's SWAT (Sharing With A Theme).
Phyllo Cups with Goat Cheese, Thyme, Honey, Walnuts, and Pear
The phyllo cups are sweet from the honey, pear preserves, and turbinado sugar, but savory from the thyme and goat cheese. — No Spoon Necessary

Poached Pear Salad with Pinot Noir
Beautiful autumn pears are peeled and tossed into a bath of warm, sweet, spiced red wine. I used pinot noir, but you can use whatever red you have on hand. They cook down for about a half hour, but this step can be done way in advance of plating your salads. — Boxes and Jars

Saffron Pear Cake
Pears are obviously a naturally sweet treat, but the bosc pears that are available during the fall have a distinct floral quality to them. I knew that the pears would highlight the sweet, floral notes of saffron and pair beautifully in this cake. — Mon Petit Four
Insalata Di Rucola Con Pera E Prosciutto
This salad is light, but refreshing because of the fresh fruit and the dressing is not heavy, giving it just the right coating and texture. The salad gets a nice addition of Romano cheese, fennel, and prosciutto —fennel, while strong all on its own, is perfectly balanced with the arugula and the pear. — The Complete Savorist

Autumn Apple Pear Crisp
Nothing says fall to me more than fresh fruits. Whether those fruits are put into a pie or a crisp, it doesn't matter. However, I do like simple. When I saw some beautiful apples and pears at my local grocer, I immediately imagined the aromas at our small lake cottage when I turned them into our autumn apple pear crisp. — Platter Talk
