The Seasonal Arby's Sandwich Customers Say Is Worth Trying

Arby's, the popular fast food establishment and self-proclaimed Meats-Haver, is most famous for its best-selling classic roast beef sandwich, but the chain actually carries a wide variety of items, including chicken tenders, mac and cheese, and many different sandwiches. Most are available all year round, but there's one seasonal item that fans say is worth checking out this Thanksgiving holiday: the Deep Fried Turkey Gobbler sandwich. Selling for about $9.59 (depending on location), this sandwich comes on a toasted sub roll and consists of a quarter-pound of deep-fried turkey, stuffing, a cranberry spread, mayonnaise, crispy onions, and Swiss cheese. As with all Arby's sandwiches, customization is allowed, so if you want to add some bacon, swap out a different cheese, or remove the mayo, that's totally doable.

While Arby's is far from the only chain restaurant to offer Thanksgiving-centered food options (with some fast-food chains going so far as to sell a full turkey), its Gobbler sandwich is an offering that some fans can't wait to get their hands on. One Facebook user posted photos of the sandwich along with a caption, "I look forward to this every year." An Arby's fan responded, saying, "Had one today[;] it was delicious."

Why people like the Deep Fried Turkey Gobbler

Social media is full of people sharing positive opinions on Arby's Turkey Gobbler. One Reddit user wrote: "The turkey gobbler is really good...I really like the stuffing they use, and it had a lot of turkey on it. My husband thinks it needs more cranberry, but I thought it was just enough." Another Arby's fan on the same thread agreed that the sandwich was great, specifically highlighting the onions: "The gobbler was insanely good. Those fried onions, I want them on everything. And OMG, what kind of roll is that they use? It had the right amount of chew and structure." This sandwich even won over a skeptical Reddit user who said, "I was pleasantly surprised by the final results, which is essentially a typical leftover Thanksgiving sandwich like you would make at home."

The Turkey Gobbler isn't Arby's only deep-fried turkey sandwich available for the holidays. Though it's less focused on the Thanksgiving taste profile, the deep-fried turkey club, which, like the Gobbler, contains a quarter pound of turkey, comes topped with classic turkey club additions: crispy bacon, cheddar cheese, tomato, lettuce, and mayo. If you love turkey but aren't huge on the accompanying Thanksgiving flavors, this sandwich might be more your speed. It has its fans too. One Reddit user noted, "I wish they had the deep fried turkey club year round. It's the best sandwich I've had at Arby's."
