7 Chocolates From HomeGoods To Look For On Your Next Visit
It might surprise some people to know that you can buy food at HomeGoods. In fact, food items take up several aisles in any given store. From popcorn and chips to olive oils and pickled veggies, you never know what you might find. One of the most exciting foods in the home decor superstore is chocolate, which comes from several countries and in several forms, such as bars, squares, and round bonbons filled with flavorful creams.
We found seven chocolates you should keep your eye out for whenever you visit HomeGoods. Our selections are made in Switzerland, Turkey, Poland, America, the Netherlands, and Italy, and have all been spotted at various HomeGoods locations. Every item at the popular chain (including the chocolate) is purposefully selected by the company's buyers, so these sweets should be high quality and very tasty. Of course, with chocolates, it's hard to go wrong anyway, isn't it? These are all perfect for an afternoon treat, to place in candy jars during the holidays, or to give away as gifts.
Lindt chocolates
Can we all agree that Switzerland produces some of the most amazing milk chocolate on earth? It's known for being smooth and creamy, as opposed to Belgian chocolate, which is darker. Lindt makes truffles, squares, and festive holiday shapes, all of which you can often find at HomeGoods. The chocolates literally melt in your mouth and are flavored like a dream. The white and dark chocolate items are equally delicious.
Foreva Angel Hair chocolate bar
This bar from Turkey is a version of the viral angel hair chocolate bars first made in Belgium. Foreva's bar contains a milk chocolate shell filled with a crunchy type of Turkish cotton candy, called pişmaniye, and pistachio filling. Once the bar is split open, you get a shock of white and pink color inside, plus the creamy muted green from the pistachio. The look and feel is in the same vein of the hugely popular and viral Dubai chocolate that came before it.
E. Wedel chocolate bars
Chocolate bars from E. Wedel, out of Poland, are a common sight at HomeGoods stores. We're glad they are, because the various flavors sound scrumptious. We specifically spotted panna cotta and a creamy chocolate-filled version, but the brand makes many flavors, including crème brûlée, tiramisu, dark cherry, and coconut. The ones we've seen in person are generously sized (10.1 ounces), and are an excellent, gourmet choice to put on s'mores or other desserts.
Chocovia Dubai chocolate
If you adore Dubai chocolate, you won't have any trouble finding plenty of options at HomeGoods. Based on our experience, there are tons of brands and styles to choose from, but we chose Turkey's Chocovia brand. Rich milk chocolate is stuffed with pistachio cream and crunchy kadayif, a finely shredded pastry that gives the entire bar an unbelievably yummy, crunchy texture.
Harry Potter chocolate wands
Fans of the Harry Potter universe should appreciate these sweet replicas of Harry Potter's personal magic wand, made by the Jelly Belly Company in America. Unfortunately, you don't want to spend too much time practicing your transfiguration spells with these, lest the entirely chocolate wand melt in your hand. These make great gifts for any fan of the books or movies, and are perfect stocking stuffers. Generous hands might even give them to witch and wizard trick-or-treaters.
Tony's Chocolonely
It's hard to miss bars of Tony's Chocolonely at HomeGoods — the packaging is rainbow-bright and cheerful. This brand from the Netherlands comes in milk, dark, and white chocolate, and is available in flavors such as pretzel toffee, caramel, and sea salt, any of which you might find at HomeGoods locations. One of the reasons we love this brand is because it sources cocoa from farmers that don't engage in child labor.
Oliva
Oliva is from Italy, and we've spotted its bags of truffles several times in the aisles at HomeGoods. It produces creamy, filled bonbons in flavors such as espresso and hazelnut, but it's the milk chocolate pralines with tiramisu flavor that we really want. Each truffle is individually wrapped and promises flavors of chocolate, coffee, and cream, reminiscent of the popular dessert. These are great any time of day, but they're especially scrumptious as an after-dinner treat.
