This Sweet Sam's Club Cafe Item Deserves A Revival
At Sam's Club, the membership-only warehouse chain that's a subsidiary of Walmart, you'll encounter gigantic aisle after gigantic aisle full of food, clothing, electronics, and pretty much anything else you could imagine — if you've never been, be sure to check out our list of rules to know before you go to Sam's Club. They also have a café or food court with a variety of delectable food items available. Sadly, some especially delicious ones have disappeared over the years. When we took a look at the discontinued Sam's Club items we're probably never getting back, one of our absolute favorites was the fruit and yogurt parfait.
Made with vanilla yogurt and granola along with strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries, the parfait was a great sweet treat that was a healthier menu item than some of the choices at the café. Unfortunately, it was discontinued several years ago, and there's been no indication that it's coming back.
A number of social media users were taken by surprise when they realized Sam's Club had stopped selling this beloved treat. A Facebook user noted, "They used to be freshly made by the cafe and one of my favorite snacks." Another user lamented the loss of the parfait as "sad because they were delicious," and another remarked, "Such nostalgia, I haven't seen them in years."
Why was the fruit and yogurt parfait discontinued?
Why has Sam's Club removed popular menu items like this from its café over the years? In response to an X user asking about the disappearance of another beloved food choice, the $1 churro, a representative from Sam's Club responded, "We understand that the menu can be impactful, but this is aimed at streamlining our menu, accelerating preparation time, and reducing any extra waiting periods." That makes sense, but we still wish they could find a way to add our favorite food items back.
If you're looking to scratch that fruit and yogurt parfait itch, the closest item on the current Sam's Club café menu is most likely the berry sundae, which is also made with frozen yogurt and a blend of berries. But with an added syrupy sauce and without the granola, it's just not quite the same thing.
Alas, the Sam's Club fruit and yogurt parfait may be gone for good, but fortunately, there are still a lot of great dining options that remain on the shelves today — for example, these Sam's Club foods that taste homemade.
