NBA Playoffs 2012 Food Fight: Round 3
The NBA Food Fight is heating up. While only four teams remain in the NBA Playoffs — Boston, Miami, Oklahoma, and San Antonio — The Daily Meal has tallied the results of the second round of the NBA Food Fight.
While the results of round one of the NBA Food Fight mimicked those of the NBA Playoffs, round two of the NBA Food Fight was not as predictable.
While Boston may have creamed Philadelphia on the court, the Boston cream pie was no match for the Philly cheesesteak and hoagies — the Philly hometown treats won by a vote of two to one. And Miami's Del Monte fruits and vegetables couldn't keep up with the Indiana Pacers' pork tenderloin sandwich. The pork tenderloin sandwich toasted Miami's healthy fare with 96 percent of the votes cast in favor of the crispy, juicy pork sandwich.
Oklahoma's chicken-fried steak and onion burger, which burned San Antonio's tamales and puffy tacos by a vote of three to one, fared better than the NBA team (the Oklahoma City Thunder lost its first game of its series against the San Antonio Spurs, 98 – 101). The San Antonio Spurs lead the series 1 – 0, but they have been eliminated from the NBA Food Fight.
While Boston, Miami, Oklahoma, and San Antonio are battling it out in the 2012 NBA Final Four, the third round of the NBA Food Fight has three teams remaining. Who will win round three: cheesesteaks and hoagies, the pork tenderloin sandwich, or the chicken-fried steak and onion burger? Only two teams will make it through to the final, so vote for your hometown favorite.
