James Beard Foundation's Inaugural Leadership Awards

For the first time ever, the James Beard Foundation is recognizing prominent figures in the business, education, and political sectors that are fighting for global food sustainability. The JBF announced the illustrious recipients of their Leadership Awards earlier this week. 

The individuals being honored this year are Will Allen, Fedele Bauccio, Debra Eschmeyer, Sheri Flies, Jan Kees Vis, Fred Kirschenmann, First Lady Michelle Obama, Janet Poppendieck, Alice Waters, and Craig Watson. The foundation is hosting an awards ceremony on October 12th followed by a dinner that will be prepared by chefs Michel Nischan (Dressing Room) and Anne Quatrano (Bacchanalia), who are both strong proponents of farm-to-table cuisine.
