James Beard Foundation Announces 2014 'Who's Who' Inductees

The James Beard Foundation has announced the 2014 inductees to the illustrious "Who's Who of Food and Beverage in America," which honors "renowned culinary professionals who have made a significant and unique contribution to the American food and beverage industry."

The six new honorees to be celebrated at the annual James Beard Foundation Awards on Monday, May 5th, includes four chefs and two food writers whose work represents "the best of the best in our culinary world."

The 2014 inductees are: John Besh, a New Orleans-based chef and restaurateur whose work focuses on preserving the culinary traditions of southern Louisiana; David Chang, chef and restaurateur of the Momofuku Restaurant Group and the first host of PBS' The Mind of a Chef; Paul Kahan, executive chef and owner of several Chicago restaurants including avec, Blackbird, and The Publican; Edward Behr, editor and publisher of the quarterly food magazine, The Art of Eating; Barry Estabrook, the author of Tomatoland; and Sherry Yard, a pastry chef and author of The Secrets of Baking, who will reopen the iconic Helms Bakery in Los Angeles later in 2014.
