Perhaps you dislike the NFL on moral grounds, are anti-chicken wing, or a team you like got booted in the playoffs. Nonetheless, it may seem like it’s impossible to avoid the Super Bowl. As more than one-third of the United States tunes into this game, what should you do to avoid all of the madness? Bars and casual restaurants will be packed with viewers and forget about having a game night with your friends; they’ll be busy watching you-know-what.
If you want to escape the Super Bowl craziness, do know that you have plenty of alternatives. Your local gym and bowling center are bound to be dead, giving you free reign in these usually popular spots (though we can’t promise that the game won’t be on TV). You can also go for a quiet, relaxing evening at a high-class cocktail bar or a museum. If nothing else, don’t be afraid to pack up and get away. Sometimes you need to drive off to forget about football.
