Thrillist's 'Fest Of The Best' Brings Some Of New York's Best Food Together Under One Roof
Thrillist is known for its many "best-of" lists, especially in New York. For the second year in a row, it honored the winners Thursday night at its "Fest of the Best" by bringing 13 honorees together under one roof and inviting them to serve a signature dish. Hundreds of hungry guests were treated to some spectacular food as well as drinks courtesy of Jack Daniel's, Liberated Wine, and Six Point Beer.
Held at the Metropolitan Pavilion, the walk-around tasting featured small plates from Luke's Lobster (lobster roll), Dinosaur Bar-B-Que (pulled pork sliders), Blue Ribbon Sushi (assorted hand rolls), Café Clover (strip loin with Brussels sprouts and potato purée), Ess-a-Bagel (bagels with assorted appetizing), Delaware and Hudson (macaroni and cheese), Saxon & Parole (dry-aged Angus burger, havarti, maple bacon), Parker & Quinn (cured salmon and eggs with buratta), MP Taverna (Gyro-spiced pulled roasted lamb tacos), Mesa Cocoyacan (tacos de carnitas), and Trattoria Il Mulino (porcini ravioli with Champagne truffle sauce). For dessert, Ample Hills Creamery provided ice cream and Sprinkles served mini cupcakes.
The crowd never grew to an unmanageable size, and while lines were long at times, they moved swiftly. Accompanied by the music of The Rad Trads (who definitely knew their way around New Orleans jazz), it was an event that was just about impossible not to enjoy.
