New Orleans Prepares For The James Beard Foundation's Taste America Dinner Sept. 30
The James Beard Foundation continues its fourth annual Taste America tour on Sept. 30 in New Orleans. The foundation is traveling to 10 cities across the country to host one-of-a-kind fundraising dinners highlighting local cuisine and headlined by a visiting all-star chef and local star chef, as well as cooking demos, artisanal tastings, and book signings.
The exclusive dinner benefiting the James Beard Foundation will take place at Hyatt Regency New Orleans with the cocktail and tasting reception beginning at 6:30 p.m. Dinner begins at 7:30 p.m. and will feature a menu crafted by all-star chef and James Beard Award winner Alex Guarnaschelli of Butter in New York City, local star chef and James Beard Award winner Justin Devillier of La Petite Grocery; pastry chef Brett Gauthier of Ralph Brennan Restaurant Group; and the host chef, Eric Damidot of Hyatt Regency. The night will be emceed by Mark Romig, the president and CEO of Tourism Marketing Corp.
The reception will feature tastings from the talented Nina Compton of Compère Lapin; Michael Gulotta of MoPho; Philip Lopez of Root; Slade Rushing of Brennan's; and Isaac Toups of Toups Meatery.
