Strange Allergy Causes Teenager to Break Out in Hives If She Eats Hummus Before Exercising
When facing the prospect of working out some people wish they were allergic to exercise. Well one Canadian teen actually is! The 17-year-old girl's lips swelled minutes after she began running on a treadmill. By the time she stopped, she'd developed hives and abdominal pain. Doctors posit that the combination of exercise and pre-run chickpea consumption led to "food-dependent exercise-induced anaphylaxis (FDEIA)," a potentially deadly allergic reaction.
DC Shake Shack Creates Jalapeño Burger to Honor Rachael Ray
Can you believe RayRay has been gracing magazine stands for 10 years? To celebrate this anniversary of "Every Day with Rachael Ray," Shake Shack is releasing a limited-edition pickled jalapeño cheeseburger at their Dupont Circle, Washington D.C. location during the week of October 13. The tribute burger will feature cheese, crispy marinated shallots, Thai basil pickled jalapeños, and sriracha. Its flavors highlight some of the star's favorite ingredients. Rachael Ray can most likely call herself a burger expert by now: She hosts Burger Bash at the New York City Wine & Food Festival and South Beach Wine & Food Festival, and her magazine annually publishes a list of America's best burgers.
Merry Early Christmas, Everyone, Cinnamon Bun Oreos Are Coming
Two of the world's favorite not-healthy-at-all and now's-not-the-time-to-worry-about-it snacks are joining forces to become what might be the most covetable cookie EVER: the Cinnamon Bun Oreo. The cinnamon bun-flavored crème-filled cookies haven't hit store shelves, but photos are circulating online, sparking considerable interest. An Oreo spokesperson confirmed to The Daily Meal that the cookies are real, and promised to give a release date soon!
