The Perfect Margarita Of The Year Revealed

Just in time for your Cinco de Mayo, the perfect margarita (according to Patrón) was recently revealed in Brooklyn, New York. After hundreds of votes, and months of mixology competitions, leading beverage opinion leaders decided that bartender Jordan Corney's Spicy Rosa Picante Margarita was ruled to be the perfect tequila sipper of 2016. This is quite an honor. Patrón's exclusive live voting event featured the final three competing cocktails narrowed down from seven national finalists. Along with the winning libation, guests were encouraged to sample mixologist Rosie Ruiz's The Re-Margarita, a modern margarita with Patrón Silver and a carbonated homemade orange-lime cordial and the sultry Smoked Mangonada Margarita crafted by Stephen Halpin.

All were coupled with passed tapas such as spicy tuna tacos, Cuban sandwich bites and lightly fried eggplant truffle balls. Special guests David Wondrich (a notable cocktail historian) introduced the mixologist masterminds while the Patrón himself, John Paul Mitchell announced the winning tipple to conclude the competition. The packed event also included stations to make custom margaritas by experiencing the processes from sourcing to sipping. Guests had a chance to choose a cocktail concept and flavor such as the Patrón Citrón Mango, source ingredients through a makeshift produce market, browse exotic salts and spices and finally, shake concepts into actual creations. A celebratory time was had by all.
