DIY Decoration Projects Using Fresh Herbs
Summer gives us some extra time to take on fun projects. The best projects are the ones that upgrade your home with a little bit of decoration. Instead of using craft materials from the store, try using something from your grocery store or even your own garden.
Fresh herbs smell lovely and make our food taste delicious. But they aren't just for cooking. It turns out there are plenty of ways to decorate with herbs. Here are some fun ideas for making your home beautiful with herbs:
Herb Wreath
Wreaths don't have to be for Christmas only. An herb wreath will look beautiful and give your home a pleasant scent. Think of it as a natural air freshener. All you need to make this is wire for the base and to tie your herbs onto the wreath, scissors for trimming, and a trash bag. First tie together your herbs in bunches, and attach them to your base in an alternating pattern. Lavender is a great herb for this, along with rosemary and thyme. You can also scatter in bunches of marjoram and peppermint.
Herb Drying Frame
This project is cute and useful. The best thing is that it's pretty cheap to assemble. You can get any old frame and paint it any color you'd like to make it look like new. Remove the matting and glad from the frame carefully. On the back attach some rope or string tautly so they are firmly in place with hot glue. Then all you need are a few clothes hangers and you can clip your fresh herbs up to dry.
Centerpieces
A cute idea for an herb centerpiece is to wrap fresh chives inside a clear vase. It makes a swirled green design and you can put more herbs or flowers in the vase. Or you could just fill mason jars with a variety of fresh herbs to make fragrant and simple table decorations.
