'Beer Intern' Is An Actual Job At This Tech Company

"Beer intern" sounds like a fake job a person might come up with to pad out a resume, but it's a real thing, and a tech company in Tokyo is looking for one.

A Tokyo-based web developer called Technomobile put out an ad for a "beer intern" job, but what they're really looking for is an intern who will do web development while also drinking beer. One suspects they'll have a lot of applicants.

According to Rocket News 24's Casey Baseel, Technomobile says the point of having the interns drink beer is to "help clear away tension by having a beer, and let interns experience the working atmosphere at Technomobile and see if they're compatible with it."

Applicants must be over 25 and should have at least a year of relevant experience, so it's not like Technomobile is looking to get a bunch of inexperienced teenagers drunk. The interns will work on the evenings of April 22 and 23, during which they'll have a beer and then complete web development assignments. Afterwards there is the possibility that the company may want to hire them full-time.
