AltaMare: A New Take On Traditional Seafood

While it might not be hard to find a seafood restaurant in Miami, it is hard to pick out the great ones. Look no further: Altamare is one to not pass by. For years, the restaurant has been known by locals as the place in Miami to find the freshest fish. With its new location on Lincoln Road, Altamare seems like the perfect venue for anyone to enjoy the best fish away from the bustle of Miami's hub.

Altamare's menu lives up to the hype. Some great options include the grilled octopus appetizer, the pan seared local hog fish, and the seafood pot with mussels, clams, calamari, scallop, shrimp and local fish in a roasted tomato broth. However, while most come for the seafood, the menu offers many options for the meat lover, like veal chop, boneless short ribs braised in ranch with whipped parsnips and pickled red onions, or their unique seafood sausage, where crustaceans are mashed into a meat-like substance and served in sausage-form with a pink peppercorn sauce.

Even though the restaurant has been around for some time, it has since gained popularity due to its new location.  It has been widely acclaimed by many publications, such as South Beach Magazine commending them for their tasty dishes. Nonetheless, Altamare definitely seems like a restaurant that will allow guests to step away from all the bustle of Miami and comfortably enjoy quality seafood in a quiet and relaxing setting.
