However, shoppers might find some exceptions to this with Dollar Tree's overstock.

Dollar Tree's business model relies on buying goods cheaply, including other retailers' overstock – products those businesses thought they would sell to consumers but didn't. But it's not all snack-size candy bars and no-name brands. Don't expect Burberry tea towels, but you might find major brands or larger product sizes of snacks and other foods not usually seen there.

There are, however, some challenges to making these rare finds. You're unlikely to see a section labeled "Overstock," and many Dollar Tree locations are infamously disorganized. Depending on what they are, these products might be placed anywhere in the store, and customers tend to rapidly buy them as soon as they're available. The best time to find Dollar Tree's good overstock mirrors the best days and times to shop at Dollar Tree in general: as soon after opening as possible, ideally a day or two after the store's last delivery. Getting there early is essential to compete with experienced shoppers who already know about these deals. And since Dollar Tree deliveries should be mostly stocked within 48 hours of arrival, ask your store when those usually come (they may be somewhat irregular) and make a plan to scour the aisles.
