The company is rolling out its latest product, A Turkey Walks into a Pumpkin Patch, which is not a set-up to a seasonal joke but rather a cookie decorating kit. It contains eight pre-baked sugar cookies, shaped to resemble autumn leaves, pumpkins, acorns, and turkeys, along with everything you need to decorate them to your heart's content.
What sort of decorating options are included in the cookie kit? There are two packets of icing (orange and yellow), two packets of "fall blend" sprinkles, and one packet of good old-fashioned sanding sugar. It's enough to send you into an autumnal DIY decorating free-for-all. There's a colorful harvest of wattles, feathers, and flame maple leaves as appetizing to the eye as they will be to the sweet tooth.

A Turkey Walks into a Pumpkin Patch is only the latest of Trader Joe's cookie decorating kits. It's predated by the Haunted House Chocolate Cookie Kit, which features a (mildly incongruous) edible gingerbread house, as well as spookily-shaped chocolate cookies, black and orange icing, jelly beans, and bat and bone candy. And as we progress into year's end, the company will try to tempt customers with its Decorate Your Own Holiday Ornaments cookie kit with — you guessed it — eight ornament-shaped sugar cookies, icing, and sprinkles.
The Trader Joe's Thanksgiving-themed cookie kit weighs in at a hefty 1 pound, 2.8 ounces for a cost of $7.99. (And supplies are limited, as this is obviously a seasonal rollout.) If the kits fly off the Trader Joe's shelves like leaves in an autumn wind, fans could see them again in years to come.
