Zum Schneider Presents Munich on the East River
East River and East 23rd Street
New York, New York 10010

Gentlemen, it's time to break out the lederhosen.
That's right; a real Oktoberfest is coming to New York, and more specifically to the East River and 23rd Street.
Zum Schneider, the East Village Bavarian Biergarten owned by native German Slyvester Schneider, is bringing NYC its first ever original Oktoberfest tent. In true Oktoberfest fashion, the tent will be complete with Oompah bands (who doesn't love a good Oompah band?), Weisswurstfrühstück (we had to Google that one too) and giant German guys competing to see who's strongest.
Obviously, there will also be original Oktoberfest beers on tap such as HB Traunstein Festbier, Paulaner Oktoberfest Märzen and Paulaner Wiesn, so you can party until you turn into a Bierleichen (look it up).

Unfortunately, this tent won't be up for all of the 16 magical days that are Oktoberfest, but there are six different days that you can go. Don't worry, if you're dying to go on a day that's sold out, more tickets are released at the door on a first come first serve basis, so just be sure to get your hangover in check and show up early.

If you prefer to play it safe and buy tickets ahead of time, regular admission tickets are $25 a pop. If you'd rather be VIP (who wouldn't?) you can pay $100 per person to go with your friends in a group of four, six or ten. VIP admission includes appetizers, a free beer and a mug to take home, as well as the luxury of a private entrance, bathroom and dedicated table service.
The East River has never been more tempting.
