Wine-Inspired Playlist: Tunes For Your Next Tasting

Wine has featured in many popular songs over the years, from the Eagles' "please bring me my wine" and "pink champagne on ice" in "Hotel California" to The Beatles' "I sat on the rug, biding my time, drinking her wine" in "Norwegian Wood." But it's harder to find a whole song centered on wine. Here are six we liked, perfect for playing while sipping on great wine with great company.

"Bottle of Red Wine" by Eric Clapton. From the guitar god's 1970 debut solo album comes this poetic but ambiguous plea for a woman to "get your man a bottle of red wine."

"Coffee and Wine" by Chadwick Stokes. The reggae-funk rocker put out this song on his debut album. It tells a great story that goes along with the moving beat.

"Chardonnay" by Frogg Marlowe. This bluesy track with an indie rock feel has got emotion, great singing, and of course an ode to (or maybe regret of) chardonnay.

"Chardonnay" by Brandhi Irvon. A song that plays like the varietal it describes: Irvon's full, buttery voice is complemented by a muted trumpet adding complexity in this R&B song lamenting a lost relationship.

"Red, Red Wine" by UB40. A blend of reggae and pop, you may have slow-danced to this song at a wedding. The refrain "red, red wine" is an ode any wine lover can groove to.

"Red Wine Til Daylight" by Keri Noble. Ever stayed up late drinking wine? Blare this pop-country tune the next time you do.
