The White House Correspondents' Association Dinner: The Recap
They came, they posed, and they laughed — yes, we're talking about the 2012 White House Correspondents' Association Dinner this weekend. After famous faces like Reese Witherspoon, Elle Macpherson, Lindsay Lohan, and Chace Crawford walked the red carpet, everyone sat down and got down to business. Host Jimmy Kimmel dished out jokes about A-lister attendees like George Clooney and of course, Donald Trump.
As has been said in past year, President Obama may have even been a bit funnier than the host himself. He poked fun at presidential races past and the secret service. He compared the successes of his first term to what he wants to achieve during his second term and included rapper Young Jeezy somehere in the midst of it.
In any case, for those of you who are curious, the menu has been revealed! Here it is:
Salad: Black lentil terrine with lump crabmeat, tango green and red artisan greens, red and yellow tear drop tomatoes — drizzled with a dill vinaigrette
Bread Presentation: Seven-grain rolls, white and wheat rolls, sourdough rolls, flatbreads, and butter
Entrée: Texas-rubbed petite filet with a Calvados demi, paired with a duo of jumbo shrimp seasoned with red curry; roasted haricot verts, baby pepper, patty pan squash; Tasso mache choux risotto
Dessert: The Galaxy — rich chocolate truffle mousse layered with chocolate genoise and almond macaroon, ganache truffle center finished in a chocolate glaze, garnished with fresh raspberries
