Two San Francisco Restaurants Receive Coveted Michelin Three-Star Award

With the recent addition of two new Michelin three-star awards, San Francisco is proving to be quite the culinary destination. Those honored with the coveted three-stars include Benu, an Asian fusion restaurant, and Saison, a restaurant committed to serving its guests only the best seasonal ingredients.

Benu and Saison, which both already held a Michelin two-star rating, are located in San Francisco's trendy SoMa district. Now that each restaurant has earned itself a third Michelin star — the highest Michelin rating possible — the city of San Francisco has literally doubled its number of Michelin three-starred restaurants.

Chef Thomas Keller's The French Laundry and Chef Christopher Kostow's The Restaurant at Meadowwood, which are both located in Napa Valley, have retained their prestigious three-star Michelin ratings.
