Turkish Airlines Has Top In-Flight Food

A survey of international travelers has named Turkish Airlines' cuisine the best in-flight food, beating out 18 other airlines around the world.

The survey, conducted by flight comparison site Skyscanner, asked passengers to judge each airline's food based on presentation and taste. Turkish Airlines' menu took the top spot.

"Our goal has always been to provide passengers with a luxurious experience in the skies, and we are proud to offer an assortment of savory gourmet options to all of our customers," said Turkish Airlines president and CEO Temel Kotil.

On each flight, Turkish Airlines offers its passengers rotating menu options, like Turkish meatballs, stuffed eggplant, caprese salad, and walnut pear tart. Turkish Airlines also has a range of special meals, including children's, kosher, vegetarian, and seafood options.

Turkish Airlines also creates special in-flight menus for holidays and special occasions, like chocolates and cupcakes on Valentine's Day. The airline also won Skyscanner's Best On-Board Food in 2011.

Singapore Airlines, on which Gordon Ramsay has previously been affiliated, Etihad Airways, Aer Lingus, and Emirates round out the top five.
