The Camby Hotel Opens In Phoenix

The new Camby Hotel has opened in Phoenix. Located in the former location of The Ritz-Carlton, the space has been redesigned by Stonehill & Taylor and now falls under Marriott's Autograph Collection.

A mix of the professional and the avant-garde, the hotel's name is a nod to its location near the city's iconic Camelback Mountain. Inspired by the desert landscape, the hotel incorporates the five C's of Arizona: cattle, copper, citrus, climate, and cotton. These elements shape The Camby Hotel's identity and guest experiences, blending imagination, sophistication, and statement-making designs.

The hotel houses 277 revamped luxury rooms with a teal and white design palette. Most rooms feature views of Camelback Mountain, fur throws, a red and brown Southwestern-inspired sitting area, big comfy bed with nice linens, and a work desk. The interior design varies depending on the room, and can include a large ram head or lighted "YES" sign over the bed, a copper ceiling with whimsical quotes about sleep, marble bathrooms with quotes on bath mats, and hairdryer covers about bathroom etiquette.

The outdoor rooftop pool area also includes an al fresco space for corporate mixers. The new Artizen restaurant and bar off of the lobby serves a variety of small, medium, and large plates that can be sampled and shared for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and brunch. Menu highlights include roasted bone marrow, a foie gras torchon, oxtail rillettes, smoked sweet potatoes with duck fat, duck tagliatelle, grilled boar, roasted branzino, and a shrimp chile relleno. Specialty cocktails include the Sage Collins with vodka, lemon, and sage; the Red Saint with St. George's Terroir Gin, St. Germain, red pepper purée, and celery bitters; the Blush Beauty with Suze, lemon, cranberry, and grapefruit bitters; and the Under the Desert Sun with Bombay Sapphire, Domain de Canton, lemon, and orange bitters. There is also an extensive wine menu.

For other dining options, The Bees Knees is a copper-topped cocktail bar that also offers small bites, and the new Rooftop Pool & Bar will be opening in Spring 2016. In addition to ice-cold craft beers and margaritas, the sunny space will offer street tacos and handcrafted ice cream sandwiches on a stick.

The Camby also houses a boutique spa, an expanded contemporary fitness center, and more than 20,000 square feet of meeting space.
