Soccer is the national sport in Mexico with the professional Mexican soccer team having qualified to compete for the World Cup consecutively since 1994. In the MASL includes 23 professional indoor arena soccer teams from Mexican and the United States. The Las Vegas Legends will play 20 games with 10 home games.

Group moderator Aleida Castro will discuss and engage participants about the book, "Frida: A Biography of Frida Kahlo," by Hayden Herrera, about celebrated Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. Known for her paintings done in styles of surrealism, realism and modern art, Kahlo also embraced her Mexican heritage. The series will conclude with the showing of the biographical film, "Frida," chronicling the life of Kahlo. Produced and starring Salma Hayek as Kahlo, the movie also features Alfred Molina, Antonio Banderas, Geoffrey Rush, Ashley Judd and Edward Norton. Participants read and discuss the book before viewing its adaptation into film. Latino history, music, art and family structure will be explored in terms of film depiction and perception.
