'Oklahoma'

"Oklahoma" was first performed in 1943, on Broadway, and is the first of many brilliant collaborations of the famed Rogers and Hammerstein. It ran for an unprecedented 2,212 shows and has been a smash hit favorite of theater goers ever since. The budding romances of Curly and Laurey and/or Will and Ado Annie in the quaint Oklahoma farm setting have been the stuff audiences have enjoyed over the decades, and they can continue that tradition at Lindenwood's J.Schiedegger Center for the Arts this fall. Make sure you get your seats for at least one of three performances starting on October 30 to November 1, 2014. Ticket prices range from $10 to $18 and are available online or at the box office. But don't wait, as this show is certain to be as entertaining as the first, over 71 years ago.

Take a drive out to St. Peters to get to the Smokey Mountains of North Carolina. The Blue Grass and Gospel music of "Smoke on the Mountain" portrays the individual tales of the Sanders family's lives and their return to performing after a long hiatus. The intimate setting of the Act Two Theater is the perfect place to get lost in this story of pain and triumph. The performances run from November 7 through 16, 2014. Tickets start at $14 for students and seniors and are $18 for adults.

This rock musical is a comical look at the founding of the Democrat Party and America's seventh president. Experience important moments in history, such as populism and the Indian Removal Act as directed by a president in the roll of an emo rock star. Enjoy this comical interpretation of history as performers sing and dance through time. The story of Berry Gordy is dynamic and entertaining and brought to life on the Fox stage. An evening of the great music of Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Smokey Robinson and more, along with the story of Berry Gordy, is a great way to spend an evening in the theater. "Motown the Musical" runs from November 18 through 30, 2014, and ticket prices start at $85.
