Bissell Mansion
4426 Randall Place
St. Louis, MO 63107
(314) 533-9830
www.bissellmansion.com

Bissell Mansion is St. Louis's oldest running dinner theater, and it sets a high bar. The neighborhood around the mansion has become questionable, but the parking lot is well lit and secure, and once you've entered the property, its fireplaces, antique furnishings, high ceilings and detailed woodwork will remind you of the grace and elegance of a bygone era. You'll be given hilarious character names and roles (choose a starring, speaking or merely observational part), then you can get in character and nosh on hors d'oeuvres while you chat with other guests and interact with the highly skilled actors. During the evening, you'll enjoy a sumptuous four-course dinner, see a murder solved and laugh yourself to tears.

Lemp Mansion Comedy-Mystery Dinner Theatre
3322 DeMenil Place
St. Louis, MO 63118
(314) 664-8024
www.lempmansion.com

Lemp Mansion is St. Louis's most famous haunted building, so it's a natural for a murder mystery dinner theater. Guests and restaurant staff have been reporting ghost sightings for years. That, plus the Mansion's well-loved restaurant facilities, make it the perfect place for a lightly creepy dinner theater. Lemp's program follows the classic setup, with scripted actors improvising with guests, who've all been assigned roles for the evening.

The Royal Dumpe
809 N. 2nd St.
St. Louis, MO 63102
(314) 621-5800

Looking for something a little different? This 16th century English comedy dinner runs toward the bawdy side. Your dinner is served by a bevy of busty wenches, all improvisational comediennes who will stay in character throughout the evening. The evening delivers non-stop corniness, with tons of off-color humor and a visit from Henry VIII himself. It's a unique evening, very fun for groups. Some people bring children; just make sure you're going to be comfortable with the kids hearing lots of jokes about cleavage and derrieres if you're going to bring them.

This new interactive dining experience is the brainchild of former Scottish Arms chef Liz Schuster, who was looking for a way to combine her two loves of food and film. The experience, described as "full contact dining," involves watching a film while a four- or five-course meal inspired by the film is prepared all around you in the theater. The result is a blend of sight, sound, smell and taste.

Opera Nights
Dominic's On The Hill
5101 Wilson Ave.
St. Louis, MO 63110

Lovers of Italian food and classical music will be in heaven at one of the Opera Night events at Dominic's. The spacious, elegant restaurant hosts some of the finest singers from St. Louis Winter Opera as a fundraiser for the Opera's season. The events are held monthly on Wednesdays during the opera's off-season months, and each month's dinner has a different theme. This is a chance to hear the exquisite voices of the stars of the Winter Opera company in an intimate setting. Rather than a full libretto, you'll simply hear your favorite arias collected from a repertoire of classical, comedic or light opera, or even show tunes. Savor a luscious dinner with wine and great entertainment that benefits one of the city's most remarkable arts organizations.
