Top Batting Cages In St. Louis

St. Louis will always be a baseball town. If you're looking for a place to work out, keep your arm in full swing or train your little slugger for summer leagues, look no further than the city's assortment of batting cages. Some are part of a larger fun park, for Saturday family, group or birthday party fun. Others are serious training facilities. Here are some of the STL's favorites in both categories.

Swing-A-Round Fun Town is pretty much the grandaddy of outdoor family recreation complexes in the St. Louis area. Every St. Louis kid has memories of the go-kart tracks, miniature golf courses and batting cages at Swing-A-Round. Bumper boats offer a great place to cool off on hot St. Louis afternoons. The batting cages have been kept in good shape, so families can still enjoy this local family tradition.

If you're looking for more of a serious training facility, The City Cages has you covered. This 11,000-square-foot facility provides individuals and teams with an opportunity to train indoors, with either softball or baseball equipment. A pitching cage with a dirt bullpen lets pitchers practice working from a mound. Two "iron mike" arm-style pitching machines provide solo batting practice, and there's a separate slow-pitch machine for softball. A pair of live-pitch batting cages provide space for group practice.

Tower Tee Golf Center
6727 Heege Road
St. Louis, MO 63123

Another serious sports facility, Tower Tee pairs a nice set of batting cages with a golf training facility — perfect for multi-sport families. More than a dozen attended batting cages offer slow pitch and fast ball pitches, so you can wander around and test your skills in different situations. Arm-style cages pitch up to 90mph on Wednesdays, but there's spongeball for little sluggers as well. Tower Tee is set up for individual practice, but can also accommodate team practices. Tower Tee also caters to golfers, with mini-golf, lessons and a driving range.
