Toby's Estate Opens Manhattan Location On 5th Avenue
Toby's Estate has quietly been developing a reputation as one of Brooklyn, N.Y.'s finest coffee roasters, selling high-quality coffee blended and roasted in-house at their shop on North Sixth Street in Williamsburg. Their second location, connected to the newly renovated Club Monaco on Fifth Avenue between 20th and 21st Streets in Manhattan, opened this morning, Oct. 31.
All white, with high ceilings, hanging Edison bulbs, and the original tile floor, the shop has an airy, light-filled vibe about it. There's espresso (a special Flatiron Blend was made for this shop), filter and pour-over coffee ranging from $3 to $7, tea, and cold-brew iced coffee. There's also a wide selection of baked goods from some of the city's finest purveyors: Balthazar, Celi Cela, Danny Macaroons, Ovenly, Downtown Cookies, Piemonte Biscotti, and muffins and banana bread baked in-house. There's no seating except for a small bench out front, so it's definitely more of a grab-and-go spot.
The shop will be open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
